Mercedes-Benz G500 – Reborn from the Ashes
Mercedes-Benz G-Class After Fire Rebuild
Project Overview
Fire is one of the most destructive things that can happen to a vehicle. It doesn’t discriminate – it takes the mechanical and the cosmetic alike, leaving behind damage that goes far deeper than what the eye can see. This Mercedes-Benz G500 came to us in exactly that condition: a machine that had been through a fire and needed to be brought back to life.
Â
The approach was straightforward but uncompromising – full assembly from scratch. Not a partial repair, not cutting corners where the damage wasn’t visible. From scratch means from scratch.
Â
One of the most significant and detailed areas of the rebuild was the ceiling. It was completely redone – fully stripped and rebuilt with the installation of mirrors and lighting, then hauled to a finished result that stands as one of the finest ceilings we have produced. The work involved in getting the mirrors, lights, and fabric hauling to sit perfectly together is painstaking – and the result reflects that.
Â
Throughout every stage of the rebuild, one rule held firm above all others: preserve the original style. The G500 has a character of its own, and no part of the restoration process was allowed to compromise that. Every decision made during the assembly was filtered through that single, non-negotiable objective.
